Les mois de janvier et de février la Galerie Quint-Essences accueille l'exposition collective "To Japan with Love." Treize artistes de 6 nationalités ont offert leurs œuvres pour aider le Japon avec la reconstruction. Cinquante pourcent des ventes iront au Japon et 50% aux artistes pour aider avec les frais de transport, etc.

La toile phare, de l'artiste Bernard Vidal de Paris, un Officier des Arts et des Lettres de France. Les dimensions sont de 105x105cm encadrée. elle a servi d'annonce sur l'internet de l'exposition et a été vendue dans les 20 minutes à un nouveau client du Liban. Elle part fin février à Bierut.

Depuis cette vente nous avons eu beaucoup de gens qui souhaitaient acheter cette même toile. J'aimerais rassurer ces personnes que l'artiste fera deux expositions à la Galerie Quint-Essences cette année : les 2 premières semaines d'avril puis dans un deuxième temps, pendant tout le mois de décembre.  Notez donc ces périodes dans vos agendas puis contactez nous pour les dates exactes.

Nous sommes ravis de voir que cette exposition a eu un intérêt exceptionnel aux yeux des media : la galeriste, Anaïs Laurent, fut invitée à participer à un entretien live à la télévision Canal Alpha et à la Radio RTS pendant les heures de pointe à 12h45. Suite à cela nous avons eu 2 articles de presque 1 page entière dans l'Express et le journal officiel de la Ville de Neuchâtel, Vivre la Ville.  Cette publicité nous a amené un public que nous n'aurions pas touché sinon et nous somme ravis d'avoir ainsi répandre le message que le Japon a toujours besoin d'aide.

Le 26.01 cinq étudiants du Conservatoire de Musique Neuchâteloise ont joué des morceaux de Beethoven et Schumann. En solo ou collectivement, les deux violons, sonate et sérénade, l'alto, le piano et la flûte traversière ont su plaire à une galerie pleine - plus de 30 personnes! Nous étions obligés de sortir les coussins pour les étudiants venus un peu tardivement...Nous espérons que les étudiants viendront à voir la galerie comme l'endroit le meilleur pour rencontrer le public.

Le mois de mars nous faisons une expérience: un mot sur chaque mur de la galerie, et les artistes locaux peuvent exposer une œuvre qui correspond (une par mot mais possibilité de plusieurs mots.)

Ce fut intéressant et bien instructif concernant la diversité des styles et des techniques... Et le résultat fut extraordinaire car nous avons deux nouvelles membres de l'Association Art à la cARTe! Les artistes se soutiennent comme rarement avant et cela est une joie immense!

The Galerie Quint-Essences will host "To Japan with Love" during the months of January and February. Thirteen artists from 6 different countries have offered their works to help rebuild Japan. Fifty percent of all sales will go to Japan; 50% to the artists to help with transportation costs.

The showcase art work to the left is by Parisian artist Bernard Vidal, an Officer of the Arts and Letters of France. The framed dimensions are 105x105cm. It was used to annouce the exhibition on the internet and was sold within 20 minutes of its presentation. It will be sent to Bierut in February after the end of the exhibition.

Since this sale we have have had a number of people come wanting to purchase the same work. I should like to reassure them that the artist will honor us with two exhibitions during 2012 : the first two weeks of April and the whole month of December, offering us the perfect Christmas gift for that perfect partner in our lives. We are delighted to find that this exhibition has found favor in the eyes of the media: the gallery director, Anaïs Laurent, was invited to participate in 2 live interviews on the television station Canal Alpha and on RTS radio at the noon time rush hour around 12:45pm. following this, we benefited from two nearly full page articles in the Express and in the official town news papaer, Vivre la Ville. This publicity has brought us a totally new public which we could not have contacted on our own, and we are thankful that we were able to spread the word that Japan is still in need of our help.

On the 26th of January, 5 students from the Neuchâtel Conservatory of Music played a concert of classical music program that brought an overflowing, more than full house! Two violins (a Sonata and a Serenade), an alto, the piano and a transverse flute took turns either as a group or solo performing works by Beethoven and Schumann and the pleasure was shared by over 30 persons. We  even had to get out the cushions for students who came a bit late and had to sit on the floor! Since this is the first in a series of concerts by students from the Conservatory, we look forward to the next with the hopes that the students will come to look on the gallery as their favorite place to come face to face with the public.

The month of March is an experiment - each wall has been given a word to use as a way to explore a new theme and local artists were invited to bring a work to exhibit, one to a word that inspired them. However, several artists came with a number of works that came under different themes! Wonderful response.

It was both interesting and instructive to see how many different styles and techniques were represented in this exhibition. The best result of all was the inscription of two new members in the Art à la cARTe association - artists have taken to supporting eachother in the difficult period and that is an incredible and wonderful event in my eyes.
