Text Box: Michca - Micheline Camard, known to her artist friends as Michca, was born in Paris in 1938. In 1962 she married Franz Sidler and has since lived in Switzerland in Colombier.  In 1963, their son Olivier was born.
The love of drawing and colour simmered in her from her tender childhood; however, at that point in time, Tradition had it that it would be unthinkable for a woman to take up an artistic profession.  She, therefore, chose another means of bringing joy and of being helpful. It was with pleasure that she took up a career in the field of health, as a naturotherapist, after having studied for many years in both Switzerland and in other countries.
It is only close to the age of sixty, in 1996, that Michca finally allowed herself to return to her first love by taking watercolour courses with Robert Tilbury, as well as workshops in painting elsewhere in Switzerland and in foreign countries. She becomes totally absorbed by watercolour techniques without, however,
Text Box: stopping her work in her profession.
In June of 1999, the castle of Vaumarcus hosts her first exhibition, and the same year, she also exhibits her works in the Galerie Regard in Colombier. Succes in both cases encourages her to continue.
Since then, she has regularly exhibited several time a year, either individually or in group exhibitions.  However, while watercolor requires the artist to capture the passing moment outside, on site, whatever the weather, other techniques allow for work inside, in studio, and so she expores acrylic paints, oils, collages, as well as model painting and clay sculpture.
She now also works on commission: portraits, landscapes and still life, in the technique and size of your choice.
You can find her information on the website of the Galerie Quint-Essences under the artists' icon.
